DUBAI Supreme Council of Energy established the Dubai Carbon Centre of Excellence (DCCE), which is the first of its kind in the Middle East as being specialised in the areas of carbon emission reduction, offers the best expertise to determine the eco-friendly initiatives and play an effective role to provide a pure environment both locally and regionally.
Within the framework of ongoing collaboration to address the risks of climatic conditions and their negative effects on natural resources and the initiative of clean development, His Excellency Saeed Mohamed Al-Tayer, Vice Chairman of Dubai Supreme Council of Energy received Dr. Alissar Sarrouh – representative of UN Secretary General, and resident representative of the United Nations Development Programme in the UAE in the presence of Engineer Waleed Ali Salman-Member of Dubai Supreme Council of Energy
Al-Tayer said: “the discussions focused on common cooperation and future projects. The council established the Dubai Carbon Centre of Excellence (DCCE) in order to reduce carbon emissions as part of its environmental strategy, to focus on limiting these emissions, and playing a vital role in providing a clean environment for the Dubai society."
He pointed out that Dubai Supreme Council of Energy aims at setting up a fund for environmental balances, preparing structure for economy, offering consultations relevant to projects of carbon emission reduction, and achieving “carbon neutral” to meet the needs of the Emirate of Dubai as well as the region.
